It is not only the best way to learn about other countries, ideas, languages and cultures; increasingly, it is an important part of professional and academic career development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students envisaging a study abroad will be looking for:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>study programmes which are relevant to their final degree,<\/li>\n<li>full academic recognition which ensures that they will not lose time in completing their degree by studying abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To help students make the most from their study abroad, the European Commission has developed a European Credit Transfer System, which provides a way of measuring and comparing learning achievements, and transferring them from one institution to another.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ECTS helps higher education institutions to enhance their cooperation with other institutions by:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>improving access to information on foreign curricula,<\/li>\n<li>providing common procedures for academic recognition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ECTS can also be used within one institution or between institutions within one country.<\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of the improvement course, 1 credit is equal to 12 academic hours, which includes independent participation in an international seminar, a republican contest, a conference and an olympiad, as well as video lectures on the subject of the course.
